Montpellier Danse Festival 2016
Montpellier Danse Festival celebrates contemporary dance, bringing live performances to the streets and venues of Montpellier. Founded by Dominque Bagouet in 1981, the dynamic festival has challenged boundaries through powerful choreography, using the expression of the body to break down barriers.

The Agora theatre, located in the heart of the towns historic Ursuline convent will act as the base of the festival. The unique dance venue which opened in 2010 houses studios, offices, an artists residence center and performance space solely for the use of choreographers and dancers.
Events include film screenings, free dance performances and lessons in the square of the Montpellier Agglomeration, ’round table’ discussions on dance and political censorship, and a series of debates on Divergence FM, view the programme here.
