Marseille’s International Film Festival
Marseille welcomes the 27th edition of the International Film Festival from the 12th of July to the 18th. The festival presided by Paul Otchakovsky-Laurens and directed by Jean-Pierre Rehm, presents a dynamic program of 130 films in the cities cinemas, theaters, libraries, art galleries and open air amphitheaters. The expected 23,000 visitors will have access to a huge range new cinema, documentary productions and fiction film alongside world premier’s and exclusive first time viewings of great films. Events will take place in over 13 screening and meeting locations across Marseille, including special screenings, retrospectives, masterclasses, outdoor screenings and evening concerts.
A series of 9 prestigious awards will be awarded by the festival jury to the winning nominated films, with one being selected for the ‘Grand Prix of the International Competition.
The festival supports film in all forms all year round through several initiatives, the festival ‘lab’, a support platform for international co-production, the festival ‘campus’ a training workshop for Mediterranean students; and numerous, offsite screenings throughout the year.
A Festival pass can be purchased for €60 which provides unlimited access to screenings, alternatively, tickets can be purchased per screening for €6, per 5 screenings for €25 or per 10 screenings for €50, more information here.
