In 2019, The Meuse Cycle Route partnered with EuroVélo, the European network of cycle routes.
Its 900km of cycle paths echo the words of Charles Péguy’s poem that describes the Meuse as “gentle” and “dreamy”.
This wonderfully bucolic, waymarked route never strays too far from the river. The whole route operates a dual traffic system: safe greenways are designed solely for cyclists and non-motorised vehicles; shared routes are minor, largely quiet public roads used alongside motorists.
Why not cycle experience a different holiday by venturing on bike for 443km from the fortified city of Langres to Givet Citadel, recharging your batteries in the area’s beautiful countryside and sampling the region’s delicious cuisine?
