Save the Date: The 2021 American Library in Paris Gala

On September 23rd, 2021, for the first time in over a year, the American Library in Paris will hold an in-person event, their annual Gala Dinner. This event is the Library’s most important fundraiser of the year.

The Gala will be held at the 3-star Michelin restaurant Le Pré Catalan, an enchanting enclave in the heart of the Bois de Bologne. In this stunning setting, the event will provide an environment that is comfortable, well ventilated and adheres to all government guidelines. As always, the Library places the safety and comfort of its supporters as the utmost priority.

The event will include an outdoor champagne reception in the gardens, dinner in the open air salon of the restaurant, gifts from Gala sponsors and Library partners, and a conversation with acclaimed author and keynote speaker Zadie Smith.

Zadie Smith is the author of the novels White Teeth, The Autograph Man, On Beauty, NW, and Swing Time, as well as three collections of essays, Changing My Mind, Feel Free and her latest, Intimations. Intimations was written during the early months of lockdown and explores ideas and questions prompted by an unprecedented situation. She is currently a tenured professor of fiction at New York University and a member of the American Academy of Art and Letters.

Around 200 library devotees will attend this year’s Gala. This exciting event gives supporters a chance to reunite and celebrate over cocktails and dinner in sumptuous surroundings while also helping to provide vital resources that will sustain and grow this important institution.
