Discount Designer Shopping: La Vallée Village Presents “La Vie en Rose”

Summer hit its peak on the sizzling streets of Paris, so I escaped to La Vallée Village and its air-conditioned boutiques to experience “La Vie en Rose”. Pink and sparkling, “La Vie en Rose” is an all-encompassing exhibition encapsulating everything that makes the summer season more beautiful, entertaining and refreshing.

Along with the amazing designer outlet boutiques, the Village comes alive this summer, its streets an open-air exhibition. There are plenty of things going on:  a rosé bar, DJs in the evening, together with festivities, art installations and a series of art performances.

Strolling along, I discovered some of the great artists of the contemporary scene including:

-Sculptor Richard Orlinski, the best-selling contemporary artist in the world, with his famous five-meter high polar bear.

-Pop-art painter and sculptor Laurence Jenkell with her signature giant bronze confectionary.

-Artist and photographer Sylvie Barco covered a 4.5-meter-high wall with collages of Parisian life.

-Monsieur Chat and his smiling cat sculpture.

-Clément Mougel and his explosive work in colour.

Food also adds to the summer ambiance, with lingering Happy Hours and outdoor picnics. The Village garden is showcasing the rock star of French pastry and world 2005 world champion, Christophe Michalak, with a food truck filled with his delicious pastries.

Of course, summer would not be summer without a glass of rosé. I treated myself to a refreshing verre from the Rosé Bar at the Menu Palais Restaurant. A perfect place to enjoy a drink à la française after a great day of shopping and avoiding  the heat!

La Vallée Village captures the spirit of summer. The combination of innovative art and fashion transmits an infectious enthusiasm that goes beyond limits. The Village is constantly evolving and has succeeded in making both art and fashion accessible.

A welcome respite from the heat, the warmest thing at La Vallée was the welcome.
