Chateau de Labarom
A grand, bed & breakfast castle which benefits from the hushed countryside, environment in the Vienne department but also being within a mere 20 minute drive from the popular Futuroscope theme park attraction. If you’re looking for something a little less active, it also offers proximity to surrounding castles (Chateaux Scorbé-Clairvaux, or Toffou), animal parks and the city of Poitiers.
The Tower Room
Located directly next to the tower itself with an adjoining twin room, this suite fits up to 4 occupants. The en-suite bathroom offers a lovely view of the pool and garden.
The Bovary Room
The master bedroom in the house allowing up to 5 occupants, consisting of a large double bed and two single beds in an adjoining room. There is also an alcove with another single bed.
The Blue Room
A south facing twin room which offers two cozy single beds, bathroom and separate toilet. Bookings with groups or families that have more than 2 children, will be offered the pool room at a reduced rate (per child).
Futuroscope is roughly 18km from the property, a family-friendly theme park for all ages to enjoy.
If you’re looking for a spa then just 11km drive from the castle (in Neuville du Poitou), you will also find the Vital en Sens beauty centre. Take a time to indulge yourself to restore your energy at an atmospheric spa for the ultimate pampering session.
Journey to the city of Poitiers and visit its churches: Notre-Dame la Grande capture the coloured lights through stained glass windows depicting ‘The Crucifixion’ at the Saint Pierre Cathedral.
A Little History
In 1490, constructions began on the castle grounds. The origin of the castle’s name comes from the ‘Barum Fountain’ which remains on site to this day, alongside a square tower – now attached to another part of the castle’s building that has detailed engravings dating back to the middle 17th century.
