The Alpe d’Huez is situated on a fully south-facing plateau, 1860 m above sea level, and its skiable area enjoys maximum exposure to the sun. So enjoy a day’s skiing in the sun: up to 7 1/2 hours a day of sun in December and up to 11 hours a day in April. The French Weather Bureau has recorded an average of 300 days’ sunshine a year at the resort! Also, on a fine day, you can see 1/5e of France from Pic Blanc.
WHERE ARE WE LOCATED IN L’ALPE D’HUEZ?
Nestled in the fir trees, the chalet Lalpedu is located at 1800 meters on the southern slope of the Alpe d’Huez. It is part of the Delta chalets of the private street “rue des Sagnes”. Built in the 1950s by architects Robert Demartini and Pierre Sicard, the chalet delta enjoy the climate of a very sunny site and a breathtaking view of the mountains. Designed on several levels with their steeply pitched roof and gabled façade, the atypical architecture of the delta chalets gives the place a unique charm. They are located in the old Alpe district which is the historical center of l’Alpe d’Huez. You can reach the old centre either through a pedestrian path (5 / 10mn) or by car (3mn). On-site, you will find all the necessary shops; restaurants, bakeries, butchers, cheese makers, supermarkets, tourist office, ski pass office, ski shop, etc. The start to the slope is at the end of the street, from there you can go two ways; we ride the slope which goes to Huez village or we take the free shuttle which drives us to the slope roundabout where the ski school meeting point is. On the way back we can either take the pedestrian path or the slope which goes to Huez village.

THE CHALET LALPEDU
The chalet Lalpedu has 130m2 of living space and can accommodate 8 to 10 people and additionally 3 young children. The chalet consists of 2 independent apartments:
– The ground floor (45m2) can accommodate 4 people and 1 young child. It has a beautiful living room with an open kitchen overlooking a large south-facing balcony. The kitchen is fully equipped and especially to be noted are induction hobs, a dishwasher, a Nespresso machine and an oven. It also has two bedrooms, a separate toilet and a bathroom (shower).
– The upper part (85m2) can accommodate 6 people and 2 young children. The large living room and his open kitchen overlook a large south-facing balcony. The kitchen is again fully equipped with induction hobs, a dishwasher, a Nespresso machine and an oven.
Upstairs are 2 bedrooms and above these is the attic room which is ideal for children. It also has a separate toilet and a bathroom with a shower.

BABY FRIENDLY CHALET!
As proud parents of young twins, we have equipped the chalet in preparation for this; one bedroom has a cot (baby bed with bars) and we also have 2 folding baby cots. For the youngest kids, we have a nice rocking bed in wood, 2 highchairs, a small tub and a foldaway changing table. There are 2 nurseries in l’Alpe d’Huez but it’s best to book in advance especially during the peak season. We can also introduce you trusted nannies if you want to hang out without your kids.

SOME SPECIFICATIONS ON RATES AND SERVICES
Upon arrival, the beds are made, we also provide bath towels, bath mats, tea towels and towels. This service is charged € 200 per rental.
Final cleaning will be done by a cleaning company for 150 €.
As a renter we have the duty to collect tourist tax from holidaymakers, it amounts to € 1.70 per night and per adult over 18 years.
