Have you always wanted to learn French and wine tasting? If you love the sound of the French language and have a penchant for the finer things in life, this is the experience you’ve always dreamed of. The storybook French city of Bordeaux and its wine châteaux await!

Get to Know Bordeaux

There’s a lot to love about Bordeaux. It’s postcard-pretty with cobblestone streets, gorgeous green parks, a dreamy river walk and jaw-dropping architectural gems sprinkled throughout the city. There are open-air markets, fabulous shopping streets and candlelit wine bars that will satisfy any French fantasy. Being smaller than Paris and so close to the region’s famous wine châteaus make it the perfect place to learn French and wine tasting!

French Classes

The French language school sits right smack in the center of Bordeaux, so walking to school in the mornings will be a sightseeing experience in itself. Dive into your French language classes from 9:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Monday through Friday, ranging from beginner all the way up through advanced levels. With classes of a maximum of 12 students, you’ll be able to perfect your French accent and get to know other students who share your passion!

French Wine Classes

As if things weren’t already interesting enough, then you’ll start your journey to becoming an expert on French wine. On Monday and Tuesday, you’ll take two seminars from 2-5 p.m. where you’ll learn everything there is to know about Bordeaux wine, from learning the different appellations of wines around Bordeaux to reading the label on a bottle, the different steps involved in tasting a wine, how wine is made, the wine blending process and more. Basically, heaven, or everything you need to know to impress your friends at dinner parties.

Trips to the Bordeaux Wine Châteaux

The pièce de résistance, however, will be your three afternoon excursions (Wednesday – Friday) to Bordeaux’s wine châteaus, where you’ll put your new French language and wine knowledge into practice in a setting right out of a movie. As you watch the city slip away, you’ll drive into the countryside where you’ll soon be surrounded by vineyards as far as the eye can see. Visit the 19th-century castles, world famous for their fine wines, and sip some of their best-selling vintages in exclusive tastings.

Now is the perfect time to visit Bordeaux, as it’s just picking up steam as the new “it” destination in France. The swanky new Cité du Vin is a wine lover’s dream where you can learn all about the history of wine in Bordeaux and then wine taste in the panoramic penthouse bar. It’s time to tick this one off your bucket list!
