Brittany, in the extreme north-western tip of France, is a region known for its historic connection to the Celts. Today it has become a popular destination for tourists due to the wild beauty of its inland and coastal environment, its preserved nature and its cultural riches. Brittany is also an important economic region for France, with a large regional agricultural industry and major research centers such as IFREMER, the French institute for ocean resources research.

Brest is the largest city in Western Brittany, situated on the sheltered coastline of the Finistère departement, it is historically the second military port of France, after Toulon. Its bay, one of the most beautiful in the world, is a popular place for walks and water sport. It is also home to Océanopolis, a great center of scientific sea research.

Le CIEL Brittany was created in 1987 in a former 19th century manor house, situated in a park right next to Brest harbor. The renewal of the official label “Quality French as a Foreign Language”, issued by an Inter-ministerial Commission, is a guarantee of quality services.

Open all year round, it offers all types of courses: general French, specialty, exam preparation, preparation for higher studies. Different course formats are possible: in international groups: intensive courses (20 hours/week), oral communication courses; private courses, semi-private courses (2 to 4 participants), teaching workshops for teachers; language vacations for groups (college students, high school students, academics, employees).
