An “Out-of-this-World” Wine Experience at Château Cordeillan-Bages

There’s a chateau in the heart of Bordeaux wine country—situated in Pauillac overlooking the Gironde Estuary—that’s home to a magnificent Grand Cru Classé vineyard. Chateau Lynch-Bages was one of the first ever bottles of wine to venture into space on board NASA’s “Discovery” space shuttle. And this June marks the 30th anniversary of the bottle’s 1985 mission into space with French astronaut Patrick Baudry, who chose this special French symbol (the 1975 vintage) as one of the six personal items allowed each astronaut on the adventure.

To fete the occasion, the Château Cordeillan-Bages, a Relais & Châteaux property near Lynch-Bages that’s also owned by the Cazes family, has put together a special package based on a group of six guests (due to the rarity of the 1975 vintage!)

The “Lynch-Bages Voyage of Discovery” Package includes :

–        One night B&B in a Junior Suite, with a VIP welcome including a bottle of Lynch-Bages

–        A vertical tasting in the private dining room overlooking the wine cellar sampling four generations of Lynch-Bages – 1975, 1985, 1995, 2005
