U.S. Based Ambassadors for France Today Magazine

Update: We’ve had a tremendous response from our readers! Thank you so much for your interest in the Ambassador position. Starting in October 2014, we’ve rolled out a pilot programme with France Today Ambassadors in four major cities (New York, Washington D.C., Los Angeles, San Francisco). Our hope is to expand the programme nationwide… Stay tuned!

Are you a Francophile based in New York, Washington or California? Would you like to attend France-related cultural events and meetings on our behalf?

Our editorial teams are so busy in France that we don’t get the chance to meet enough Francophiles across the pond. Now we’re looking for a few select people to attend cultural events, press launches, and social gatherings on our behalf, especially in the East and West coast cities.

This would suit someone who is retired or working part-time and who can easily attend city-based events (evenings usually). Although you don’t need to be a writer or have any kind of media background, you must have an enthusiasm for France, French culture, art, cinema, food and lifestyle and you must enjoy networking and being the local representative of our brand.

For the right person, this should be a fun and stimulating role offering the chance to attend some very appealing events and venues and meet some fascinating people. This is a non-salaried position, however expenses will be covered and there will be an annual loyalty reward.

Hi everyone Thanks for your comments. Please email me directly to express your interest. By the way we are not ignoring the MidWest or even other parts of the world, we are just looking to start our programme where we have (from our surveys) the greatest number of subscribers and Francophile events. We have had a great response so I hope it will become a successful programme and we can roll it out all over! Thanks again. Guy Hibbert Editor in Chief

I would like to echo Gretchen's comment. Why skim over the Midwest? (and the South East, South West and North West come the that) It's not just the coasts that are populated with francophiles. Here In Columbus we have very active chapter of L'Alliance Francaise. And I'm certainly not the only person around here who travels to France as often as I can

I am a French major who lived in France as a student and again with my husband in our apartment for eight years. We have made dozens of trips to France and enjoy and admire the art, architecture, food etc. that France offers. My husband is an author and playwright and I am the author of "Bogie Sees Paris" a photographic journey of our Maltese in Paris. We also have a new book coming out within the next six months called "Under Paris Rooftops," a non-fiction book about living in Paris.

I would definitely be interested. I live in Palm Desert California. I have years of experience in travel and tourism and a bachelors degree in Hospitality. I also manage and own a property share in Provence and spend at least six weeks a year there. I belong to Expats of Avignon and I really do love France. My cell number is 610-213-1919. Here I am! I am living in Paris and work in New York. I am a flight attendant for American Airlines and am constantly between the two cities. I am also the Activities Vice President for The American Women's Group Paris and am a plethora of knowledge on what is happening in Paris. I HAVE to know. I can be available if I know in advance where and what city I would need to be in, though New York and Miami are easiest Will write more if you are interested.

I noticed your request for Ambassadors for East or West coast cities. What about the Midwest? There is a huge population that you missing! I was an exchange student to France-1980-81 and came home with a fervent desire to encourage travel to France and explore your marvelous country. I still maintain contact with my French family and they love to visit the St. Louis area when the visit. Thank you letting me vent! Sincerely, Gretchen Harmon
