Galeries Lafayette Celebrates Spring

Galeries Lafayette celebrates spring with a month-long event titled “Made in Mode”, offering an insider’s view of fashion. All through April, a series of workshops, exhibitions and pop-up boutiques will spotlight the designers, stylists and artisans who work behind the scenes for the store, season after season. Window displays feature fashion designers and editors photographed in their work environments by Max Farago. On the first floor, Guerlain introduces its new fragrance, La Petite Robe Noire—The Little Black Dress.

Miss Dior’s atelier will create a personalized fragrance or have one of their makeup artists show you fashion-runway secrets for using the newest spring colors. Popular French ready-to-wear label Maje’s pop-up shop will include a collaboration with the interactive photo atelier Egobox, where you can help to shoot your own portrait, alone or with friends. On the sixth floor, designers, jewelers, leatherworkers and artisans of all sorts display their techniques, while next door at Lafayette Gourmet you can learn all about making pasta, butter or cool cocktails at tasty ateliers. Special art exhibits include delicious sketches by star pâtissier Pierre Hermé. A complete schedule of events is available on the GL website.
