To the Moon and Back at the Grand Palais in Paris

Divided into five distinct sections, it will take visitors back in time, exploring real and imagined perceptions of the moon and charting artistic representations of the astronomical body, from Antiquity to the present day. It will then switch the focus to Galileo, Thomas, Harriot and the early scientific efforts to map the firmament, puzzle out the moon’s mysteries and eventually conquer it with the Apollo 11 mission.

Casting a wide net, the comprehensive exhibition will also offer a fascinating overview of the telescopes and other instruments used to gaze out, research and capture the moon over the centuries. Visitors will also be able to admire works by Marc Chagall, Man Ray, François Morellet, Joan Mirò, Auguste Rodin, Félix Vallotton.
