located below the gallery, the Forge was transported from Marboz, a village in the Ain department where it was in use since the beginning of the 19th century.
The forge is functional and is used to create the sculptures and all of the garden arrangements. From time to time some in and outside sculptures made of steel are presented inside the forge.
The gallery is located in Mercuer, a village which is named after the god Mercury, who was honoured in this place by the Romans. A Roman road and now hiking trail passes by the edge of the rose garden and the sculptures of Mercurart. There is also an ancient sarcophagus, found locally, located a few hundreds of meters in the woods.
