Jean-Georges Beverly Hills Marks its First Anniversary

What can we say about Michelin-starred French chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten’s foray into the Los Angeles dining scene? Celebrating the one-year anniversary of his venues at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in Beverly Hills, where Chef Vongerichten has brought world-class dining, we found that it’s no exception to his other legendary establishments.

During this summer’s anniversary celebration, I was fortunate to dine al fresco at the more casual Jean-Georges Rooftop Restaurant. Upon exiting the elevator, I was immediately wowed by the panoramic views of the city, perhaps the best views in all of Los Angeles. The garden setting, both trendy and relaxed, is a stunning venue for locals and tourists alike. The menu offers lighter fare, from lobster burgers to salads, and showcases organic farm-to-table ingredients.

Guests seeking Jean-Georges’ Michelin-rated food and service need only cross the threshold of the Waldorf Astoria’s triple-height lobby with beautiful murals, crystal chandeliers, and Lalique fixtures. Both the setting and the cuisine at Jean Georges Beverly Hills, the hotel’s signature restaurant, meet expectations. The restaurant’s light and neutral color scheme enhances the airy sunlit space, which is surrounded by a large vine-covered outdoor dining terrace. The casually chic, sophisticated ambience serves as a warm backdrop to a superb culinary adventure.

The menu at Jean Georges Beverly Hills reflects his classic European training, along with influences from his years of world travel, while incorporating the tastes and flavors of Los Angeles. Inventive dishes demonstrate original combinations of spices and seasonings. For those looking for the full Jean-Georges experience, there is also a multi-course tasting menu. The stylish Jean-Georges Beverly Hills Bar flows into the dining area and is a great place to sip luscious craft cocktails and enjoy appetizers.
