On May 3-5, 2019, Effervescence, America’s leading epicurean event devoted to celebrating champagne and sparkling wine, will return to Los Angeles to present the ultimate homage to champagne. The three-day fête will bring together serious champagne collectors, luxury consumers, and bubbles enthusiasts to celebrate all things sparkling. The bubbly extravaganza will feature Master Classes led by leading champagne experts, with tastings and gourmet pairings focusing on the diversity of grapes and sparkling wine styles from around the world. This is a not-to-be-missed opportunity for both aspiring and seasoned champagne lovers alike.
The idea for Effervescence popped up when Olivier Krug, a sixth-generation member of the Krug family and director of the champagne house, was visiting Los Angeles. “Olivier was so impressed with our city’s culinary diversity and thirst for bubbles that he suggested we hold an event to celebrate both. Because of this enthusiasm, we decided to pop the cork on the festival in a big way and are thrilled for what the second annual event will bring,” said Dan Perrelli, founder of Effervescence and owner of First and Wine, a Los Angeles wine shop.
The weekend will showcase an exclusive Gala Dinner on Saturday evening, prepared by Los Angeles star chefs Nancy Silverton, the first woman to win the James Beard Foundation’s Outstanding Chef Award, and Suzanne Tracht, owner of Jar Restaurant. Along with the Grand Tastings at this ode to champagne fest, other events include a Krug Enthusiasts Dinner on Friday evening, hosted by Krug Champagne, and a More Bubbles Brunch on Sunday to top off the celebration with a delicious menu prepared by Chef Nancy Silverton.
