French Film Reviews: Alibi.com, Directed by Philippe Lacheau

The latest romp by Philippe Lacheau runs on quite the barmy premise. Greg is CEO of Alibi.com, a start-up which offers philandering clients elaborate cover stories. Our hero winds up falling for the beautiful Flo, only to discover that her father is his newest client. Naturally, he wants out.

But as he’s lied to Flo about his real job, he has no choice but to go through with the charade and dream up an alibi so his cheating in-law can jet off to Cannes with his mistress. Teeming with bottom-of-the-barrel gags, the frantic cavalcade succeeds in keeping its comic tempo until the last second. The jacked-up cousin of Romain Duris’s Heartbreaker

Director: Philippe Lacheau
Starring: Philippe Lacheau, Élodie Fontan
