Win a Dazzling Original Poster from Pullman Editions

[Our Giveaway contest is now closed. Thank you to all of our entrants. One lucky winner was chosen at random. Fiona from Suffolk, UK has won the fabulous prize!]

From the walls of Saint Germain bistros to the homes of art connoisseurs, vintage French posters are having a heyday. Over the last decade, there’s been tremendous growth in the vintage poster market. Prices are soaring as demand increases for a product with only a finite supply. Take, for example, the vintage Winter Sports posters. Good ones from the 1920s and 1930s comfortably achieve five-figure sums at auction, with the finest posters reaching as much as £30,000 on the rare occasions they become available, excluding them to all but the wealthiest collectors.

Poster display was never more inspired than in the Art Deco period when posters, largely produced by Swiss and French railway companies, graced station platforms and billboards to persuade affluent and adventurous travellers to enjoy the newly-fashionable modern luxury travel. The vast majority of these classic posters were destroyed when replaced by other posters – it is the handful of surviving vintage posters that today fetch such dramatic prices.

Lucky for us, there’s a company today that creates attractive, Art Deco-inspired posters at affordable prices. Pullman Editions designs, commissions and publishes striking original posters which capture the enduring appeal of Art Deco. Their newly-commissioned posters feature glamorous travel destinations around the world, winter sports in the French and Swiss Alps, and the world’s greatest historic automobiles on the road and track. These decorative posters are a modern alternative to the costly original Art Deco posters produced ‘in-period’. Executed by leading poster artists, each with their own unique ‘signature style’, these editions combine originality with the quintessential heritage and dramatic imagery of vintage posters. Posters by Pullman Editions make original gifts.
