Furdess, a Lyon manufacturer specializing in custom-made contemporary furniture, has brought back the streamlined steel reception desk designed by Paris-based Dutch designer Ben Swildens for the Paris headquarters of Peugeot in 1966. Furdess owners Elsa and Grégory Maitre tracked down the designer and reproduced the iconic piece, whose beautiful simplicity of design is extremely complicated to re-create. Made of a swooping ribbon of mirror-polished stainless steel, the limited edition of eight will be sold through art/design galleries.
