Salute to Tati

Salute to Tati

In conjunction with the Jacques Tati exhibit currently at the Cinémathèque Française in Paris (until Aug 3), top design furniture company Domeau & Pérès has produced a new, limited edition of furniture based on the beloved French comic actor’s classic, Academy Award-winning 1958 film Mon Oncle. Set in the colorful and wackily futuristic Villa Arpel, the film pits Tati’s ingenuous signature character Monsieur Hulot against an automated new world of status-seeking consumer gadgetry. As colorful as the film’s originals, the Domeau & Pérès Tati collection includes Monsieur Arpel’s canary-yellow leather rocking chair, Monsieur Hulot’s emerald-green kidney-shaped sofa, Madame Arpel’s green double-cylinder sofa and a white porcelain Tati vase by designer Michel Lucotte. website
