Museum-Quality Candle

To coincide with the blockbuster exhibit Claude Monet 1840-1926 on show at the Grand Palais through January 24, renowned perfumer Francis Kurkdjian has created a special scented candle inspired by the artist’s painting Femmes au Jardin. In the painting, elegantly dressed women carry armfuls of flowers in a sun-dappled garden. Kurkdjian blended floral notes of antique roses and peonies with the scent of fresh green foliage to create the candle, whose box reproduces the painting and whose glass holder sports the design of a striped 19th-century hoop skirt and the artist’s signature. The limited-edition candle, which sells for €29, is available only at the boutiques of the Grand Palais and the Musée d’Orsay, but many other Monet-related items are available on the RMN (Réunion des Musées Nationaux) website for shipping worldwide.
