Maria Luisa Poumaillou
Maria Luisa Poumaillou needs no introduction to the fashion cognoscenti. The directional retailer, credited with inventing the city’s first high-end multibrand boutiques, has an avant-garde eye for fashion and is notorious for picking up on about-to-be-hottest young designers before anyone has heard of them. After playing an instrumental role in the rise of John Galliano, Martin Margiela, Nicolas Ghesquière and Rick Owens, the Venezuelan-born Poumaillou has just been appointed fashion editor of leading luxury department store Printemps. As well as acting as a consultant on women’s and men’s fashion brands in store, Maria Luisa has been given carte blanche to stock her own multibrand space on the 2nd floor of the store’s Printemps de la Mode building. Shoppers will find the Parisian fashion guru’s cutting-edge selection of clothing and accessories, including looks by Gareth Pugh, Christopher Kane, Proenza Schouler and French-Armenian designer Charles Anastase.
