Herman Düne in America

The French-Swiss folk duo Herman Düne kick off their American tour Tuesday, March 17th at the Mercury Lounge in New York, before traveling to Texas for the SXSW festival, to Oregon, and to California, where they will perform at the Museum of Natural History in Los Angeles.

The original band was a trio, consisting of the brothers André Herman Düne (guitar and vocals) and David-Ivar Herman Düne (guitar and vocals), and Néman Herman Düne. The group became a duo with André’s departure. The group, which formed in 1999, counts among its influences American legends Bob Dylan and Simon & Garfunkel, and released their first album Turn off the Light in 2000. They have opened for Arcade Fire, The Kooks, Of Montreal and Kimya Dawson.

Herman Düne has released eight albums, most recently Next Year in Zion (2008), and has become a mini-phenomenon. Not to be missed.
