Guerlain, the classic French perfume and cosmetics firm has joined forces with Place Vendôme jeweler Lorenz Baümer to create a lipstick that is as much high design as it is haute en couleur. Rouge G de Guerlain, which retails for $45 and comes in an assortment of 25 shades, is scheduled to launch in April. The formula is said to include ruby powder and mother of pearl, but what really sets the new lipstick apart (and what accounts, in part, for its rather hefty price tag) is the sleek metal case designed by Baümer, complete with two mirrors and hinged by a space-age magnet. A perfect jewel itself.
