Café Prunier

It’s always a good choice for a light, luxurious (and pricey) snack of smoked salmon and oysters, but if you’re ever in Paris in mid-January and feeling flush, the Russian New Year’s menu at this chic caviar-and-seafood restaurant overlooking the church of La Madeleine should be fit for a tsar: baby potatoes with caviar, borsch with pirogi, cold hors-d’oeuvres (including the best taramasalata in Paris), chicken Kiev stuffed with pressed caviar, and a sublime assortment of desserts.

15 pl de la Madeleine, 8th, 01.47.42.98.91. Russian New Year Menu €140 per person without wine. website
