The Jura Mountains, the French region which is home to popular ski resorts such as Les Rousses and Métabief, are now easily accessible this winter thanks to new Ryanair flights from London Stansted to Dole, Jura.

The region on the French-Swiss border has emerged as a quieter, great value alternative to larger Alpine resorts, with family-friendly and ecologically-minded resorts, plus the traditional winter holiday pleasures of great restaurants and off-piste activities.

“The aim is to bring English people to the Jura Mountains to go skiing”, said Jean-Jacques Berto, director of Dole airport of the new service.

Many ski areas in the region have a direct view of Mont Blanc, while the array of resorts offers something for everyone, including plenty of downhill slopes for skiers of all abilities, cross-country trails through pine forests and an extensive area dedicated to Nordic skiing.

Ryanair will be running a new service every Saturday from Stansted (departing at 8.20am) to Dole, from 22 December, 2018 to 30 March, 2019. The return from Dole departs at 11.50am.

Dole is around an hour and a half to Métabief and les Rousses.
