Robert Stadler's Royeroid chair at Carpenters Workshop Gallery

December 14, 2011
The new Paris branch of Carpenters Workshop Gallery is devoting a solo exhibition to the Viennese-born, Paris-based co-founder of Radi Designers, Robert Stadler, who also works solo.
Subtitled “1000 Days,” the show covers his three years of collaboration with the gallery. Lightspot’s vividly hued aluminum plaques give the illusion that they are emitting light that is actually reflected from a separate miniature LED lamp. The Tephra line of Chesterfield-tufted furniture includes a large lounger that is like a sofa, chaise longue and chair melted into one. The Royeroid sofa and armchair are cutting-edge tributes to the 1950s Ours Polaire (polar bear) designs of Jean Royère, in a plusher, handmade seamless fabric.
