Montblanc Branches Out
December 5, 2009
Montblanc has branched out beyond diamond-encrusted fountain pens in recent years and made its mark with exclusive watches, luxe leather accessories andhaute joaillerie. To bring it all together, now there is a glittering new flagship store just off the Place Vendôme. Personally, I've never hankered after a limited-edition Meisterstück with a gold nib, but I certainly would be proud to wear the stylish new platinum bracelet created in honor of Nelson Mandela. Called the 46664 — Mandela's identification number during the nearly three decades he was imprisoned on Robben Island - the bracelet is made with South African metals and engraved by skilled workers affected by the country's AIDS epidemic. Part of the proceeds goes to Mandela's 46664 HIV prevention program.
